AI & ML Usage Policy
Our episodes are processed and edited entirely by human editors. We use a few specific machine learning tools to prep the raw audio, and that’s the extent of it.
What we use ML for:
- Denoising: strips out hums, hiss, and static from raw recordings.
- De-reverb: cuts down room echo so voices sound close and clean, not boxy.
- Non-speech sounds detection: flags coughs, throat clearing, and other sounds for our editors to review, the kind your audience probably doesn’t want to hear.
- Transcription: generates a raw transcript so editors can navigate audio faster (never published, never treated as a final product).
- Video upscaling: sharpens those famous Zoom-recorded, low-res video calls without altering content.
What we don’t use:
- No generative AI – one exception though: we do use generative AI for some blog post images. If you ever spot a guest with six fingers or a microphone that melts into a desk, that’s why.
- No automated editing, mixing, or mastering. Ever. Would you want an AI doing your surgery?
- No synthetic or cloned voices. What’s the point?
Changes to this Policy
We don’t change our mind about that.
